We love a good streaming service—especially those that let you stream content for free. With so many networks out there, it's hard to know which ones you should actually commit to, especially when TV and movie offerings are constantly shifting between them.
Enter free streaming trials. Most of the major streaming networks let you sign up for a free trial, though there are a few that cost money to sign up. Many of these networks also have cheaper (or free) ad-supported plans that can provide better budget-friendly options.

Which streaming services are the most popular?
Hulu offers one of the most popular free trials.
There are a few major players in the streaming world that nearly every household subscribes to—namely, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+. But not all of the major networks offer free trials. Here are a few of the most popular free trials, according to what people search for most.
Hulu free trial
Hulu allows you to watch newly dropped episodes from nearly every major cable network, including ABC, FX, and FOX. It's also home to a number of highly rated Hulu Originals, including Prey, Deep Water, The Handmaid's Tale, and Tiny Beautiful Things. For National Streaming Day, you can get three months of the service for $2/month ($6), then you'll pay $7.99 a month for ad-supported content or $14.99 a month for ad-free streaming.
Other popular Hulu streaming options include Hulu + Live TV (no free trial) and the Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ bundle. Hulu + Live TV costs $69.99 a month and includes all three streaming services. The ad-supported Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ bundle costs $12.99 a month (ad-supported) or $19.99 a month (ad-free).
Sling TV free trial
Sling TV remains an incredibly popular option for those looking to ditch cable entirely. The service offers three packages: Orange, Blue, and Orange and Blue. None offer free trials, but all three have first-month discounts for new subscribers. The Orange package features sports and family-oriented channels, like ESPN, Cartoon Network, MotorTrend, and Nick Jr. The Blue package features news and entertainment-oriented channels, like Fox News, CNN, Discovery, E!, and National Geographic. Both the Orange and Blue packages cost $40 per month, but offer a $10 discount for your first month. The combined package offers all channels and costs $55 a month (with a $10 first-month discount).
Sling Freestream is the service's free streaming option. The ad-supported service allows access to more than 300 live TV channels and on-demand movies and series, all of which you can access without an account.
Fubo TV free trial
If you'd like to cancel cable—but can't live without your live sports—Fubo TV is an excellent option. It's expensive—plans start at $74.99 a month—but priced competitively with other live TV streaming services like YouTube TV. The Fubo TV free trial lasts 7 days so you have a full week to decide if it's worth the splurge.
