I just rediscovered Bespoke Post and I'm still obsessed

Truth be told, when I was asked if I’d be interested in testing out Bespoke Post, I didn’t have to think twice. I was already intimately familiar with the men’s subscription box service, having first become a member in 2012. Flipping through the pages of GQ magazine as a young fashion-lover, I was hooked by an ad that outlined an (at the time) novel concept: pay a small fee, and each month, you receive a box of style products and other goodies. I had a Bespoke Post membership for two years, and some of the products I received then are still an active part of my daily life today, an entire decade later.

Although we tested and loved the Aged box ($70, or $49 with membership) in 2020, to see how the service has evolved, Bespoke Post sent me a few items from their current roster. Over the last few months, I’ve been enjoying the Concentrate box ($70, or $49 with membership)—which contains a cold brew coffee maker, a jar of bitters, and a stylish concrete desk set—and also the Canvas Weekender Bag ($75) from Line of Trade. Read on to see why I (still) love Bespoke Post.

Bespoke Post is a high-end monthly subscription box for men, along with a robust online shop.

Founded in 2011 by Rishi Prabhu and Steve Szaranos, Bespoke Post is a men’s subscription box service dedicated to finding high-quality, useful products from emerging small businesses. Their membership boxes range from fashion-focused products to boxes for whiskey aficionados, home cooks, outdoors enthusiasts, and more.

Although all of their products and boxed sets can be purchased individually from their online shop, you can maximize your savings by joining their membership program, where for $49 a month, you will receive a carefully curated selection of goods that are tailored to your interests. All you need to do is take a quick online quiz to identify which boxes and products might be the most relevant to your lifestyle and needs, and Bespoke Post does the rest.

What I like about Bespoke Post

The Line of Trade Canvas Weekender Bag is useful, durable, and well-designed.

They have an impressive array of products

Visiting the Bespoke Post website after ten years, I was afraid that not much would have changed. After all, how many different types of boxes can you really put together? It turns out, the limit does not exist. Whether you’re becoming a member to discover new style brands and products to try out, or to tidy up an unkempt undercarriage (with a Reviewed-approved body hair trimmer), there’s something for every man at Bespoke Post. If you’d prefer to do your own shopping, you can shop their online store to find hidden gems from some of the newest and coolest brands.

Their attention to quality and detail is outstanding

After two weeks of infusing, we had a smoky and flavorful gin.

When we tested the Aged box, which comes with everything you need to infuse your favorite liquor with a smoky flavor, we were already sold. “Right off the bat, we were impressed by the quality of all the products,” writes our first tester, Camryn Rabideau. “Just the two cups are worth more than the box itself, as they’re made from hand-blown crystal glass, and they’ll make a beautiful addition to any bar cart.” After following the instructions and letting a bottle of gin age and infuse for two weeks with the included oak staves, Camryn was left with a “delicious, flavorful gin,” which was a fan favorite among her social circle, including her liquor-connoisseur father.

My own experience with Bespoke Post was similar. The Canvas Weekender Bag felt substantial and incredibly well-made. I brought it along with me on two trips, and the bag is just big enough to hold everything I need for a quick getaway, and the leather and metal hardware made me feel like everything would be safe and secure in transit. I suspect that with proper care, this bag will last for many years to come.

Close attention to quality isn’t something new for Bespoke Post. This Opinel Pocket Knife that I received in a membership box in 2014 is still an everyday part of my life. I have it professionally sharpened regularly, and it’s become one of the most useful items I’ve owned. I keep it handy to open packages, cut and sharpen art supplies, and have even kept it on hand for personal security at times.

What I don’t like about Bespoke Post

The "Concentrate" box comes complete with a cold brew coffee kit that was fun to use, with a delicious outcome.

Honestly, not much

It’s more than evident that despite the many years that have passed since I first joined Bespoke Post, the company hasn’t sacrificed quality in the slightest. Their products aren’t just well made, but they’re genuinely useful, durable, and stylish. A now-discontinued membership box that featured a shoe shine kit still has a permanent place in my closet and gets regular use whenever my favorite brogues need a refresh. The cold brew that I made with my Concentrate box was delicious, and the aesthetics of my desk have never been more cool with the included desk accessories.

Although the $49-a-month membership may be steep for some, I firmly believe it’s worth it for the quality and caliber of objects you get from Bespoke Post.

Is Bespoke Post worth it?

We're long-time lovers of Bespoke Post, and a decade on, the brand hasn't lost its touch.

Absolutely.

I loved Bespoke Post when I was in my mid-twenties. A decade later, I’m still impressed by their attention to detail and quality when putting together these fantastic membership boxes. And though we loved testing out their products ourselves, we also think that Bespoke Post makes a great gift for any lucky man in your life. Because they offer a variety of themed boxes each month, you can rest assured they’ll have something that caters to his unique interests, and we can confidently confirm the boxes include high-quality products (no junk!), so it’s worth the price.
